Sassy Summer Lipstick Shades

June 18, 2016
Lipstick can pull any makeup look together, the part that’s challenging is what colour you’re going to wear. The number of shades are endless and deciding which gorgeous colour to wear can be torture (girl problems)! Recently I got some adorable Avon Mini’s (Perfectly Matte) and couldn’t resist trying some out, from nice nudes to the reddest of reds; they have certainly got you covered this Summer. Whether you’re a vibrant or natural girl, you’re spoilt for choice, your lips will be on point all summer, I promise!
Absolute Coral

Coral is the main summer shade; it reminds you of sun-kissed skin and holidays. I’m not usually one for bold lipsticks, but there’s something about this colour that is perfect. Its orangey-red tone matches any bronzer and immediately draws attention to your lips, in my opinion, this shade would go best on paler skin especially if you want it to stand out. This will be my go to lipstick throughout the whole of summer, a must in your makeup bag.

Pure Pink

A real beauty if you want natural makeup this season. This baby pink lippy slides on effortlessly without being harsh on lips and it’s richly pigmented (yay). This pink may look overwhelming and dark but when applied it’s light and elegant, perfect for day or night.

Marvelous Mocha

I’m not usually a brown shade kind of girl so when testing this colour out I was a little dubious. I think with every lipstick I tried, it always looked a lot darker in the tube than it did on so be warned. When applying this, it was verging on nude so perfect if you want a subtle makeup look, it has a slight glow to it which gives you that summery feeling. All of these lipsticks are matte, yet your lips remain moisturised and if anything, in better condition. The lipstick won’t crack or come off that quickly so you won’t be embarrassed too!

Peach Flatters

This colour is quite a bold fuschia pink, so I feel the name is quite misleading. I was hoping for more of an orange shade, but nonetheless, it’s still a beautiful colour. As you can see, I’m not blessed with great voluminous lips and it’s not that easy to find a lipstick if you have got thin lips as most of them will smudge everywhere (cringe). I wore this all day, and it didn’t become dry or patchy, and it feels like you have nothing on your lips, I tested it by not wearing any lip primer underneath and found that the formula didn’t become flaky which is perfect.

I dare you to be bold this summer; you might end up loving it like me! You can find Avon Perfectly Matte Lipsticks here for only £8. Whether you’re going shopping or to a festival, everyone needs a decent lipstick, with over 20 different shades to choose from you’ll find your true love!

Have a fantastic day,

Hope x
