I’ve been scanning the high street stores looking for the perfect autumn wear, and it’s safe to say that I’ve fallen in love. I should be saving for Christmas right now but who can resist the furry coats and suede boots? Autumn/Winter are those months where you’re allowed to splash out, everything is so cosy and worth the money, and in the UK, you wear these items all year round.
One high street store has stood out to me in particular, and that’s Miss Selfridge. I’ve found some real gems in the past, and the clothing washes amazingly well. This year, however, I love everything, and my bank balance won’t thank me very much later on.
The first item I fell in love with was the belted fur collar coat (£89). Fur collars are perfect for keeping you warm on these dull mornings and the belt just pulls an outfit together giving you that classy look. I’m a sucker for coats as it is, my jacket collection is slowly growing into a massive mound, but as a person who is ALWAYS freezing, I think I should be let off!
I’m usually swayed towards cosy knitwear, but this lace sleeved top
(£39) won this time round. The frilly neck screams femininity and it’s perfect for any occasion, how could you resist the gorgeous floral lace detail? Everyone needs a white shirt in their wardrobe, make it this one.
To make the outfit complete, I came across this camel a-lined skirt
(£28). Camel is one of those colours that are extremely versatile making it a winning colour and the black piping detail makes it that extra bit smart. How cute will it look with the lace top?! Definitely, one to go in the college wardrobe.
Boots. Even the word makes me excited. I’ve been spending my days looking through pages of boots on every clothing website in existence, and it’s safe to say that I want every pair. Suede can be a bit off-putting when you’re a walker like me, but these half suede half leather heeled boots
(£39) are too perfect! I love the gold strapped detail, and the jet black suede is such an eye catcher. (Also not too high so I don’t fall flat on my face this season, thank god!).
Accessories are a must-have, they pull your favourite outfit together and make them that little bit better. If you don’t want to wear your best watch everyday like me, then opt for a cheaper one like the classic gold rounded face
watch with a brown strap (£25). Tan is one of those colours that never go out of fashion, and I love cosy knits and a decent watch! (Heaven).
Finally, bags. I could own a million bags, and I still wouldn’t be satisfied. There’s always one better than yours, and a girl can never have enough totes, right? Well, this oversized tote
(£35) goes perfectly with the coat and skirt plus you’ll be able to fit all of your girly items in there too! Who doesn’t love an oversized bag? (Apart from the arm/shoulder pain later on!).
What’s your favourite Autumn style?
