Welcome to my March Makeup Favourites
Spring has arrived which means it’s time for pastels, patterns, new clothes and a refreshed makeup bag to suit the season. Recently, I’ve grabbed some new products and updated the cosmetic collection, so if you love Esteé Lauder, Clinique, Benefit and Bare Minerals, then this one is for you. From bronzers to bases, I have got you covered with my March Makeup finds.
It’s important to start off at the base when doing makeup and I have three special products that have changed the game entirely. I’ve updated my primer for the Bare Minerals Prime Time but in the brightening version. This primer glides on skin to give it a silky feel and is slightly tinted to give you that colour correcting finish. If you pop a pump of the primer onto your finger, you’ll notice that it has a glisten to it which awakens that dry winter skin without the oily effect.
Flawless foundation? I have found THE ONE. The Esteé Lauder Double Wear foundation is the most amazing foundation I have used by far. I got a colour match which is 1CO Shell (the lightest shade, of course) and it’s the closest match that I’ve ever had. At £31 it is pricey but a little goes a long way, and it is truly worth it. It’s designed to stay on for 15 hours which I can agree with 100%. When I come home from a long day at work experience or college, the foundation hasn’t moved, my blusher has stayed on, and it’s even difficult to get off with a baby wipe. I thought that because of this, it would clog my pores and give me spots but the foundation is made oil free, fragrance-free and non-acnegenic so guess what gals? This is Mr Right.
Moving onto March makeup moisturising now, I steer clear of serums because it’s oil and it will make me break out, but recently I’ve been testing new products to suit my skin. I received the Bare Minerals Active Cell Renewal Night Serum a while back as a gift, but I was too sceptical and didn’t bother. And well, I’ve never been so wrong in my life! This is liquid gold. Active renewal is an intensive night serum which helps the skin’s natural ability to reach its ideal renewal state, special unique moisture technology can hydrate skin overnight, and you wake up with firmer, healthier looking skin. No oil residue, no breakouts, just soft baby skin. Bliss. The price? £39 *gasp*.
Sunkissed Sweet Cheeks
Seeing as the sunshine is just around the corner, it’s best we get prepared and look a little golden rather than burnt. Hoola bronzer by Benefit is my favourite product when it comes to summer. It’s able to brighten the palest of complexions and doesn’t make you look like an orange. I simply sweep it on my cheeks, jawline and forehead with a fluffy brush and it instantly gives you a healthier look. You can fake that glow, and no one will know. £20 for a bronzer? Not bad when it’s a lifesaver.
Although I’m a Mac fanatic, I do also love Clinique Pop Lipsticks as they can provide a more subtle look and suit the summer with some slight shimmer. Weightless yet luxurious, the formula is extremely pigmented and gives you a bold colour that you’ll adore combined with a smoothing primer to kiss those chapped lips goodbye. The lipstick glides on smoothly and gives a matte finish with that hint of shine, and the colour is long lasting and doesn’t transfer. I have my shades in a nude and pinky-red which are perfect if you want a more relaxed makeup day or you want to dress it up a bit. These lippies are £16 each which are 50p less than Mac, win-win.
So, whether it’s liquid gold or a perfect foundation match, make sure you treat yourself for the spring! Hopefully, you found my March Makeup Favourites to be helpful. Go out and try them!
