Love cake? Honeybuns is the way to go

April 15, 2016
Who doesn’t love cake? Exactly, no one.
So I was delighted when Honeybuns contacted me saying they’d love to send me samples and trust me, I wasn’t disappointed.
A lovely lady called Emma kick started Honeybuns in 1998, delivering cakes to cafes in Oxford. Since then the company has developed further and is now based on an old dairy farm in Dorset. Honeybuns source the best ingredients to their one of a kind gentle baking methods. They bake their products slower than commercial bakeries and set their oven temperatures low to allow the flavours to be the best you’ve ever tasted. All of the products are gluten free, with some being dairy too for any vegans out there!

When I received these items I was very impressed by the quality of the products; it came to me in a beautiful little tin packed full of individually wrapped goodies! Some of the items I received were Milk chocolate brownie, Snowy Hills (Lemon and ginger polenta crunch with lemon curd), Congo Bar (Polenta Shortbread topped with pecans, caramel, coconut curls and Belgian milk chocolate) and Chocolate caramel shortbread (Polenta Shortbread, caramel, dark Belgian chocolate) that’s to name a few!

The flavour of these cakes are amazing; the chocolate is rich and the cakes are moist with a slight crunch, just as they’re supposed to be. These delicious mini’s taste nothing like shop bought treats you get, and I would now never go back to shop bought. I’m a fond baker myself and tend to be hard to please when trying cakes, I’ve visited many cafes and not really enjoyed the muffin in front of me with my cup of tea, but with these, it’s a game changer.

However, Honeybuns isn’t all about cake. In fact, they offer the service of ‘glamping’ called ‘The Honeybuns Ark’ which is a restored caravan which you can stay, it has gorgeous views as it looks over Bullbarrow Hill. Don’t forget to visit the Bee Shack pop-up shop for home baking mixes and unique gifts also!

These tiny bundles of joy are available from Waitrose and John Lewis or simply buy online. Honeybuns cater for any occasion with the option of being able to buy traybakes. I’ve certainly put on my bucket list that I want to visit this place! I love how natural and adorable everything is. Whether it’s a day out or a weekend away I’m sure it’s something you’ll never forget.
