We’re already approaching the end of November which means Christmas party season is right around the corner. If you’ve had an invite to some exciting events and look forward to dressing up, here are a few ways you can get yourself party ready for preparation!
Take Care of Your Skin
Every season presents problems when it comes to our skin. But winter is particularly harsh on it, windy weather and central heating can send it haywire. Give your skin care routine a boost, incorporate some oils, masks and hydrating lotions into your evening regime. Apply plenty of lip balm, since the lips lose more moisture than anywhere else which can cause chapping and even cold sores. If you’ve been thinking of treating your skin more at the spa or salon as a new year’s resolution, why not start early?
You could visit a laser clinic and have your legs looking smooth and hair free ready for your Christmas dresses as well ready for the new year. You could have a pampering facial, microdermabrasion or any other kind of skin treatment you’ve been considering for a while. Think of it as an early Christmas present to yourself!
Get Gorgeous Hair
One way you can really make a statement and glam yourself up is with a gorgeous hairdo. As with our skin, cold weather and central heating can dry out the hair, so take the time to use some pampering masks and oils to replenish it. For instant volume and length how about considering some clip in hair extensions? They can be easily taken in and out and are a fun way to perfect your look for the party season without damaging your own hair. Since they’re real hair they can be curled, straightened or styled just like your normal hair, there are lots of tutorials on Youtube explaining how to clip them in and style them for the best effect.
Since mid-December through to January the first is all about good food and drink, you have a few weeks to slim down in anticipation! That way you will feel fab in your Christmas party dresses, and if you do gain a couple of pounds over the festive season it’s no big deal. Hit the gym, building some lean muscle mass will actually mean you burn more calories at rest which is handy when you’ll be eating more over the month!
Focus on a clean, healthy diet based on whole produce, lean protein, whole grains and low-fat dairy. You can use a free tracking app like MyFitnessPal to make sure you’re hitting your targets for your macros but keeping under your calorie allowance. Don’t starve yourself or crash diet as you’ll gain more than you bargained for when you start indulging later on. But trimming down a little can give you confidence and mean you don’t get to January and feel bloated!
Are you looking forward to the party season? Have you been getting yourself looking fab in anticipation?
