Dior Holiday Couture Collection ReviewNovember 8, 2016
From catwalks to cosmetics and beautiful fragrances, Christian Dior has brought us the richest, classy beauty products ever. Dior is one of the most trendsetting, modern brands in the whole world and is seen on a range of celebrities, so you can understand my excitement when I received the Dior Holiday Couture Collection Palette.
When opening this palette, you are welcomed with a gorgeous matte black leather case with gold detailing and a black bow on the zip. Minimalism is key, and it definitely works, trust me, you’re bursting to open it. Inside features two double-ended applicators, one for lips and one for eyes and a foundation/blusher brush which can be versatile for different coverage. Mini brushes always seem to be low quality and scratchy but these are soft and smooth, and I can tell they will be durable.
So, here’s the best part. The actual product. (Drum roll, please?) This makeup palette is designed to be travel-friendly and made for day or night. First of all, let’s go to cheeks. The nude coloured press powder is a highlighter but is known as ‘Diorskin Nude Shimer’ which is an instant illuminating powder. This is perfect above your blush, nose, cupids bow and just under the brows. It’s extremely pigmented and perfect on any skin tone, a real life saver if you’re out, I must agree! Next is the pink blush which you simply apply on the apple of your cheeks, it creates such a healthy glow and isn’t over the top. Complexion complete.
Next, we move onto eyes; the Dior palette contains six beautiful shades which means you have the option of 2 in-depth looks. The top row of shadows are made for a more natural look, and you have instructions to help you apply which is great for people who aren’t confident. The second look is smokey eyes which are the second row of shades. The black is incredibly sparkly and pigmented, all shadows are really easy to apply and don’t take much work. Of course, you can mix and match these colours for different looks; there are no rules.
Finally, we move on to lips. We have the shades Dior Addict Gloss and Rouge Dior Nude. Personally, glosses don’t stay on me for very long, so the best bet is to apply over a lipstick, but the nude shade is perfect for a neutral look or to tone things down if you have a heavy eye. This matte lipstick is durable and does wear quite well, I would recommend using the lip brushes provided!
If you have a special someone out there who you want to treat, then I’d definitely recommend the Dior Holiday Couture Collection (RPR £68.00). It’s a wonderful, classy gift that gives beautiful results.
